About half should be informational (i.e. helpful) content and the other half should be product reviews.
You’ll see a lot of terrible advice from advanced, guru-types to publish a LOT of content at the very beginning, like 50 or 100 posts, before launching your site. You end up working on just the content for months without any validation that your site can get traffic.
It’s really important to get small wins early, like rankings for keyword golden ratio terms or early sales. I like to launch with about 70-80% keyword golden ratio posts, the rest can be higher search volume, higher competition keywords.
So I created the Content Traffic Profit Sprint using ideas from Agile Project Management.
That way you can launch your site fast, validate your assumptions, and adjust faster.
The last thing you want to do is make the same mistake 50 or 100 times on each post, then have to fix them all. It seems like a good idea to batch your work to gain some speed and efficiency.
However, if you’re just getting started, then you aren’t ready for batching your work on a large scale. I know the rebels out there are thinking, “Hey, I’m a <fill-in-your-expertise> so I can execute better, faster, smarter than the average person.”
I can’t blame you because I thought the same exact thing — I’m a computer engineer and project manager, but the truth is I’ve messed up and made some really silly mistakes over and over again.
I tried to batch my work too fast and made mistakes dozens of times. It’s more painful to fix all those extra mistakes.
You will make mistakes so it’s better to learn from your mistakes so you don’t keep making them.
What about getting approved by Amazon Associates?
10 posts are sufficient. I don’t know the minimum number of posts, but I’ve gotten accounts approved with just 10 posts and no traffic or rankings.
The key thing to get approved is to have some nonaffiliate, nonadvertising content, which is helpful and informational.
Summary
- You can and should launch a site with 10 posts.
- At least 50% should be informational or how to posts.
- 50% should be product review types posts.
You can publish a lot more in the future. There is always time for that.
The point that you only need 10 keywords to start, not 100+. So stop spending time finding keywords and launch your site.

you mean if I upload 10 posts , it’s better 5 posts are informational and the rest of them(5 posts) are product review post types, right?
and when I post something my site, I don’t have to have like a category? I think if I don’t have a category my site, it looks quite messy.
I recommend 10 posts with a blend of info and review content, yes.
If you want to have categories, then you can do that. I like to keep categories to a minimum and normally, it’s more about the theme.
